The South Whidbey Assoc. of Jazz Educators was founded in 2004
by Maureen Girard, Chris Harshman, Matt Frost and with the help of
Pearl Zimmerman and Attn. Clark Harvey. The SWAJE acheived
non-profit status in 2006. The mission statement of the SWAJE is
to enhance music education and performance in our community.
The organization presents a yearly
Fall Concert at South Whidbey High School which brings together
professional musicians, educators and
students in the spirit of mentorship and education. The concert
features a student showcase of outstanding student performers, and
beginning this year SWAJE will also present a student workshop and
clinic made possible by the very generous support of our Sponsors and
this community.
