Maureen is orginially from New York and moved to
South Whidbey 20 years ago after a career performing on night club
circuits and cruise ships as a pianist and vocalist. She performed in
various bands and duo acts with The Girlfriends and Take Two,
performing Top 40, R&B, Rock and Country, playing keyboards, key
bass and vocals. Maureen attended Willamette University and Cornish
College of the Arts in Seattle, studying both Classical and Jazz Piano,
Majoring in Piano Performance.
Maureen is a past President of
the Whidbey Island Chapter of the Washington State Music Teachers
Association and has been teaching piano for 15 years. She was
Co-Director of the Langley Jazz Festival in 2000 and is currently
President of the South Whidbey Association of Jazz Educators which
produces in an annual Fall Concert.
She has performed in shows
with many fine musicians, including Chuck Deardorf, Clipper Anderson,
Brian Kirk, Dean Hodges, Nancy Nolan, Jim Knoodle, Doug Miller, Andre
Feriante, Overton Berry, Diane Schuur and Jessica Williams.
In
2003 Maureen began 88 Keys Piano Studio and Performing Space which
serves as a teaching studio and hosts House Concerts featurning
legendary musicians from around the world, many of whom are long time
friends.
